Here are some Americans who married Newfoundland girls and stayed in Newfoundland. They are all in American Legion Post CN 09, St. John's, Newfoundland.
They all met with the U.S. Ambassador to Canada, Davis Wilkins, on August 29, 2005 when he happened to be in St. John's.

Note: Charlie Riddle was stationed at Pearl Harbor when the Japanese bombed it and started WWII.
Note: Cecil Hutchens arrived at St. John's aboard the Edmond B. Alexander, an army transport ship, in January 1941. His U.S. Army contingent became the Newfoundland Base Command at Ft. Pepperrell then under construction.
